BrabenderCox joins Giuliani media team

Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani has retained the services of Pittsburgh-based media firm Brabender Cox to be part of a team of media consultants with a strong record of electing GOP candidates.
The team is led by Heath Thompson and his Dallas-based firm, Scott Howell & Company. Thompson, as director of President Bush's 2000 campaign in South Carolina, helped Bush to an 11-point victory in that state. "This team brings together diverse talents and years of invaluable media expertise to the campaign's overall communications effort," said Brent Seaborn, Giuliani's director of strategy. "All of these individuals are at the top of the field." John Brabender, the founder and chief creative officer of BrabenderCox, said he is "excited to be working with such a dynamic candidate as (former New York) Mayor Giuliani." Brabender's South Side firm, which also has an office in Leesburg, Va., has earned a national reputation for creativity and won 56 of the industry's Pollie Awards for creative excellence.
Also on the Giuliani team are Chris Mottola and Associates, and Crossroads Media, a media services firm. Chris Mottola was a consultant to former New York Gov. George Pataki. With the exception of Pennsylvania Auditor General Jack Wagner's Democratic primary race against former Pittsburgh Mayor Tom Murphy in 1993, BrabenderCox's clients have been exclusively Republican. They include former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum; former state Attorney General Mike Fisher, now a federal appeals court judge; and former Allegheny County Chief Executive Jim Roddey. Giuliani was leading four other Republican presidential candidates in polling data averaged by RealClearPolitics, according to figures released Wednesday. The data from six polls showed Giuliani with 27.7 percent of likely Republican voters in the primary, compared to 17 percent for Fred Thompson, 13.5 percent for Mitt Romney and 11.7 percent for John McCain.
