  • CMU's connections to the city should be more than an Al Gore or John Kerry rally with Bon Jovi music.
  • Increase CMU's retention rate for city living. More under-graduates and graduates could and should stay in Pittsburgh.

Would be nice if more than a dozen graduates lived in the city upon the completion of their degrees.

  • CMU should have a vibrant ALUMNI HALL and Rec Center with a swim pool in the city such as in Hazelwood.
  • The HYP club (Harvard, Yale, Princeton) operates downtown, but nothing exists for CMU grads, faculty and their families. There was a time when CMU owned a share of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The local alumni privileges are highly limited. Where is CMU's version of the HYP-Pittsburgh club?
