City Council limits hours for construction and demolitionEdit
Pittsburgh City Council passed legislation barring construction and demolition work from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The time limit applies to everything from commercial building to home remodeling, unless the work is being done "within a fully enclosed structure."
The ordinance, sponsored by Councilman William Peduto, was passed by city council in December 2005.
Mr. Peduto has said the legislation is a response to resident complaints about loud construction activities at night, and about unsightly trash bins placed in front of buildings.
