Youth policy matters need attention. Now that there is no curfew center, the changes to the policy are not understood.
Youths should be free to travel any time of day or night.
People, youth or adults, making disorderly conduct should be arrested.
There is not a strong case for the creation and funding of a youth curfew center.
Some rec centers and other spaces for people of all ages, including youth, might be ideal for operations on a 24-hour basis. For example, the Downtown YMCA or the Downtown Salvation Army (ours is with a family crisis center) might be viable examples of facilities that could also hold a C.O.P.S. (Community Oriented Police Station) location as well. I'd love to see a computer lab, such as a cyber playground, that never closes, within the city. It could be a safe, temporay place for kids in a pinch.
